Mohammed Kudus had a lot of reasons to be motivated to play against Manchester United and he delivered in the biggest way by scoring a goal in West Ham United’s 2-0 win over the Red Devils and dominating the stats sheet.
Kudus scored in the 76th minute with a fine strike off his weaker right foot to get a win over his former head coach Erik Ten Hag.
Kudus and Ten Hag worked together for two seasons at Dutch giant Ajax Amsterdam before Ten Hag joined Man United at the start of the 2022-203 season.
However, Ten Hag pushed for Man United to sign Brazilian winger Antony instead of Kudus who ended up moving to the English Premier League a season later.
Antony has zero goals and zero assists in 19 games while Kudus has 10 goals and five assists in 26 games this season despite Antony being bought for 95 million Euros and Kudus bought by West Ham for 43 million Euros.
Getting back at his former manager looked to be the natural reason of motivation for Kudus and the Black Stars star reveled he was indeed motivated to star against Man United.
He responded to a message from Man United Kwadwo Sheldon on X (formerly Twitter) saying, “Sorry bro but I mean this match passs!!!”

Kudus’ fine form in comparison to Antony’s got United club legend Peter Schmeichel to question Ten Hag’s choice picking Antony over Kudus. (Click highlighted teatc to read full story)
Giving West Ham fans a fine Christmas gift might just have served as motivation for Kudus.
