Black Stars forward Inaki Williams has had his say on Nico Williams’ contract extension agreement with Athletic Bilbao.

The younger Williams brother recently penned a three year deal to extend his stay with Bilbao to June 2024 and capped the week off with a goal in Bilbao’s 4-0 win over Rayo Vallecano in the league.

Inaki Williams scored in the win to register his seventh league goal of the season and believes staying at Bilbao is the best thing for his younger brother Nico.

“I think it’s a reason to celebrate. Sometimes the wait (makes) people get nervous but my brother, in the end, he’s young. We’re here to support him and we think it’s best for him to continue with Athletic”

“We are very proud of him for everything he has been doing since he was a child who still continues to improve, learn and the truth is that we are very proud and my parents will be happy.”
