Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus has explained the reason for changing his goal celebration from crossing his arms in an “X” shape to just sitting on an advertising board closest to the pitch.
The former Ajax midfielder has had a brilliant start to life in the English Premier League with West Ham United.
He scored twice in The Hammers 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers mere days after scoring in a 2-0 win over SC Freiburg that cemented West Ham’s spot atop the standings in Group A of this season’s Europa League.
Speaking with UK born Ghanaian Pop artiste Guvna B, Kudus revealed that the celebration doesn’t have too much of a deep meaning other than he just catching his breath after scoring.
“Am just taking a deep breath. It means nothing. I just sit down to take a deep breath” he said of his unique goal celebration.”
After bagging his debut brace in the Premier League, Kudus celebrated his second goal with Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta with a twist by sitting on the advertising board and facing Wolves fan directly.
Kudus usually pulls off the Landlord Pose goal celebration with his back to the fans.
