Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has renewed hopes of making it into the Black Stars squad for the 2023 AFCON campaign in Cote D’Ivoire.
This comes in the wake of the latest update of the Ghanaian player’s recovery from a thigh injury that has forced him out of action for almost two months.
The Arsenal star was captured in a video going through several workout drills including running on a treadmill and leg workout routines at a training facility at an undisclosed location.
The former Atletico Madrid player last played for the Black Stars in Ghana’s 4-0 loss to the United States of America in an international friendly game.
Ghana has been drawn in Group B alongside Egypt, Mozambique and Cape Verde. In a related development, Mikel Arteta, Arsenal manager, has said that he isn’t sure of Partey’s return date from the injury. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
Partey picked up the thigh injury as he prepared to play in Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League tie against Sevilla in Seville.
Arsenal won the tie 2-1 en route to qualifying to the Round of 16 stage atop the Group B standings ahead of Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.
