The jersey numbers for the Black Stars AFCON squad have been officially released as the team continues to camp in Kumasi ahead of the competition.
The 2023 AFCON kicks off on January 13 and the Black Stars commence their campaign on January 14 with a tie against Cape Verde on January 14 in Group B.
Ghana’s 27 man squad has been named and the jersey numbers for the players was released by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Black Stars captain, Andre Dede Ayew, will wear the number 10 jersey while younger brother Jordan Ayew will wear the number 9 jersey.
Newbies Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer of Hamburg and Richmond Lamptey of Kumasi Asante Kotoko will wear jersey number 7 and 22 respectively.
Defenders Kingsley Schindler and Mohammed Salisu will wear the jersey number 5 and 6 respectively.
The 2023 AFCON marks the return of Salisu Mohammed to the Black Stars after being sidelines by a major knee injury.
Ghana’s most in-form forward Mohammed Kudus will wear the number 20 jersey.
