Black Stars forward Inaki Williams has checked into the Black Stars camp for the 2023 AFCON tournament in Cote D’Ivoire.
The 29 year old player’s arrival to the camp was delayed due to an illness he picked up that required him to rest according to Bilbao’s medical department.
However, he recovered from the illness and his departure to the Black Stars camp was announced by the Spanish club. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
Williams was met at the team’s camp base by Black Stars Team Manager Ameenu Shardow and he announced his arrival in Ghana’s Twi language saying “Maba Maba” meaning “I am here I am here.”
The Spanish born player heads into the 2023 AFCON with a lot of expectations to meet after bagging eight goals and three assists in 19 games in all competitions.
He scored his long awaited debut goal for the Black Stars in a 1-0 win over Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier in 2023.
Ghana is in Group B and plays Cape Verde on January 14 to commence its 2023 AFCON campaign.
