Leicester City Football Club midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is backing Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku to come back stronger after the 19 year old player got sent off in Leicester’s 2-3 loss to Coventry City.

Issahaku got sent off in the final minutes of the first half after a dangerous lunge at a time Leicester led 1-0 and is set to miss three games.

Speaking in his post game presser, Dewsbury-Hall praised Issahaku’s impact on the team since joining on loan from Sporting Lisbon.

“Abdul’s been fantastic since he came into the team,” he added. “He’s still very, very young so he’ll learn from that. It’s a great learning curve.”

“The lads have said to him: ‘Don’t worry about it. It’s part of the game. You’re young’. I’m sure he’ll come back stronger because he’s upset.”

Issahaku was in line to get selected to the Black Stars 2023 AFCON squad but excused himself from selection to concentrate on continuing his fine run with The Foxes.

He has two goals and seven assists in 23 league games.
