Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew is pleased with Le Havre Athletic Club for taking a patient approach with him as he worked his way back from a long absence.

Dede Ayew said this in an interview with Le Havre’s official media after scoring twice to rescue a point for Le Havre via a 3-3 draw with Lorient in the French Ligue 1.

Ayew scored a header and a bicycle kick late in the game on his return from the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire where he featured for Ghana’s Black Stars.

After expressing how he pleased he was to score in Ligue 1 again, the veteran forward thanked Le Havre for being patient as he worked his way back to form after a substantial spell out of action as a free agent. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“I played a few matches and then there was the AFCON and I also had a small injury that affected how I wanted to get along. I thank the team for taking their time with me and giving me a run of matches before the AFCON.”
