Black Stars captain Andre Dede Ayew has described his overhead kick goal delivered in Le Havre’s 3-3 draw with Lorient as “beautiful”.

He said this after watching a replay of the goal scored in the 92nd minute to rescue a point for Le Havre at bottom side Lorient in the French Ligue 1.

Ayew scored a brace in the contest with the goals being his first since joining the club as a free agent in late 2023. The goals were Ayew’s first in the Ligue 1 in eight years after leaving Olympique Marseille in June, 2015.

“It’s a beautiful goal. I am just seeing it again and I am happy about it. It’s a beautiful goal all round in terms of the movement but it was down to the efforts of all the players. They were determined to win the duels and the ball fell my way for me to score.”

The game marked Ayew’s return from the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire that had Ghana crash out at the group stage.
