Arsenal legend Ian Wright has joined the chorus of questions toward Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag over his decision to sign Antony over Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus from Ajax Amsterdam.
Ten Hag worked with both players before joining Man United and upon signing for the Red Devils, Ten Hag pushed for Man United to sign Brazilian Antony.
Antony joined Man United for 95 million euros but has zero assists and goals in 16 EPL games this season while Kudus has six goals and an assist in 16 EPL games after joining West Ham this past offseason for 43 million euros.
Speaking after Man United’s 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest, Wright echoed Man United legend Peter Schmeichel’s concerns over Antony’s signing over Kudus. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
“Two players in (Edson) Alvarez and Kudus he had himself and it’s baffling to me that you do sign Antony over Kudus.”
“I don’t think we have needed to see too many games where you look at Kudus’ output to Antony’s output and then think ‘How can you choose this guy over this guy? When this guy is definitely doing a lot more.”
The 23 year old Kudus scored against Manchester United in a 2-0 win for West Ham United and has been nominated for the EPL Player of the Month (December) Award. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
Kudus is in line to play for Ghana’s Black Stars at the 2023 AFCON after being named in the 27 man squad for the tournament.
