Newly signed West Ham United midfielder Kalvin Phillips is excited to be in the London side and play with quality players like Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus.
He said this in his first official interview since joining the Hammers on loan from fellow English Premier League side Manchester City recently.
Phillips’ season and a half run with Man City was frustrating as the England midfielder spent most of his time on the bench and made just 31 appearances.
However, his time at Man City had him win the UEFA Champions League, league title, European Super Cup and Club World Cup.
Speaking in the interview, Phillips said he can’t to get going with the “quality environment” he is in especially with West Ham’s “Star Boy” Mohammed Kudus.
“I’m just so excited to get going. I know the quality of the environment I’m coming into. You look at players like Lucas Paquetá and Mohammed Kudus, and the whole squad in truth, and it’s not hard to get excited.”
Kudus has excelled in his debut season at West Ham with six goals and an assist in 16 EPL games and impressed in his debut AFCON campaign by scoring twice in two games for Ghana’s Black Stars at the 2023 AFCON.
