Nigeria’s Super Eagles should expect to play their crucial game against Cote D’Ivoire before a packed Olympic Stadium of Ebimpe.

In a viral video on X (formerly known as Twitter), thousands of football fans are captured walking to the Stadium to watch The Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire in action.

Cote D’Ivoire’s game against Nigeria is the host nation of the 2023 AFCON’s second match in the competition after bagging a 2-0 win over Guinea-Bissau in the opening game.

Despite missing key players Simon Adingra and Sebastian Haller, the Ivorians powered through to score the opening win of this year’s competition.

On the other hand, Nigeria need a win to improve their chances of qualifying to the round of 16 stage after disappointing in its opening game against Equatorial Guinea.

Nigeria drew 1-1 with Equatorial Guinea with striker Victor Osimhen scoring for the Super Eagles.

Despite playing before a packed stadium, Nigeria held on to a converted William Troost-Ekong penalty to beat the host nation 1-0 and all but seal qualification to the next round while Cote D’Ivoire needs to avoid losing to Equatorial Guinea to qualify to the round of 16 stage.

In its second game in Cote D’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea beat Guinea-Bissau 4-2.

Equatorial Guinea striker Emilio Nsue scored a hat-trick in the win which is the first of the 2023 AFCON.
