Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton, says he and members of his technical staff will prepare the team in the best way to compete in the 2023 AFCON.
Ghana is set to fly out to Cote D’Ivoire to compete in the continental championship that runs from January 13 to February 11. Ghana is in Group B with Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique.
He said this at a dinner headlined by President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo, Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif and Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku held before the team flies out on Wednesday, January 10.
Ghana goes into the tournament under a lot of pressure after crashing out of the 2021 AFCON edition without a win but Hughton believes his technical team will work hard to get the team ready for the competition in the best way.
“The spirit in this camp has been very good. We will make sure from the technical staff point of view that we would have prepared the players the very best way that we can going into this competition. I am quite that none of the players would leave anything behind.”

Ghana plays Cape Verde on Sunday, January 14.
