Ghanaian-English teenager Charles Kwame Sagoe Jnr has joined Swansea City in a loan move from Arsenal till the end of the 2023-2024 season.
The 19 year old’s move was announced by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano with Arsenal looking to get the London born winger more playing time at the senior level.
Sagoe Jnr. has played with Arsenal’s main team just once with his sole appearance coming in Arsenal’s Carabao Cup game against Brentford on September 27, 2023.
Despite not making any English Premier League appearance, Sagoe Jnr. has made his mark in the junior divisions by registering a goal and six assists in eight EPL 2 games and adding three assists and a goal in four UEFA Youth League appearances.
By making the move to Welsh club Swansea, Sagoe follows in the path of fellow Ghanaian players Jordan Ayew and Andre Ayew who played together for the club in the 2017-2018 season.
Sagoe, born in London, is of Ghanaian descent through his parents and is eligible to play for Ghana at the senior level internationally despite playing for England’s Under 17 and Under 19 sides.
