We will walk for the love of football- Veronica Commey on February 14th Demonstration

Sports journalist Veronica Commey is calling on football loving individuals to join the February 14 demonstration to walk for the love of football in the country.

She said this in an interview on Citi FM’s Sports Panorama after the announcement of the demonstration against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the Ministry of Youth and Sports that is fronted by sports journalists.

Saddick Adams, Patrick Osei Agyemang and Veronica Commey are among the journalists who recently secured a permit from the Ghana Police Service to protest against the administering of football in the country.

Themed Save Ghana Football, the demonstration is scheduled to commence at the Obra Spot at 8:00 AM and end at the Independence Square on February 14. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“If you gauge the atmosphere, there is a growing concern about how Ghana football in its entirety is doing. It’s a reflection of how the Black Stars fared out there-the 2023 AFCON-the way things have been handled by the GFA in the aftermath of the exit from the AFCON.”

“At this minute, you almost can say that football is on its knees or getting to that level…and whoever would be on the grounds that day would be walking for the love of the game.”

The demonstration comes on the back of Ghana’s first exit from the 2023 AFCON after failing to win any of three games in the tournament for the second AFCON edition in a row.
