Southampton Football Club manager, Russell Martin, is confident the upcoming week will prove crucial to get Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana ready to return from injury.
He said this after leading his side to a 2-0 win over Rotherham United away from home to remain second in the Sky Bet Championship standings. Southampton trails league leaders Leicester City by 11 points.
Two goals in the first half from Adam Armstrong and Jan Bednarek proved too much for Rotherham but Black Stars winger Kamaldeen Sulemana missed the game due to a hamstring injury that has kept him from playing for two months.
However, Martin believes the team will work to get Sulemana back in action in the upcoming week as The Saints chase an immediate return to the English Premier League.
“We had Sam Edozie on the bench today, great that we didn’t need to put him out there, so we can really use the next week to get him really ready, the same as Kamaldeen [Sulemana], so we’re going to have even more options with Breezy [James Bree] on the way back too.”
Kamaldeen has three assists in 13 league games this season.
