Maxwell Konadu is ready to be Black Stars head coach- Nsoatreman PRO

Citi Sports can confirm that Nsoatreman Football Club head coach Maxwell Konadu has submitted his application to be named as head coach of the Black Stars.

According to the club’s spokesperson Joel Gyempeh, the Nsoatreman head coach submitted his application after the committee set up to find a new Black Stars head coach opened applications for the role on February 2.

“Maxwell-Konadu- feels he is ready to lead the national team given his past experiences with the Black Stars” Gyempeh said.

Konadu has served as Black Stars caretaker head coach twice and worked with Ghana’s Under 20 and Under 23 national football teams.

The five man committee led by Ghana Football Association (GFA) Vice President Mark Addo has been given a 21 day mandate to name a new head coach for Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team.

Chris Hughton was sacked as Black Stars head coach following Ghana’s abysmal run at the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire where Ghana failed to win any of three Group B games including suffering a 1-2 loss to Cape Verde.

In his first season as head coach of Nsoatreman, Konadu has guided the Ghana Premier League debutant to fifth place in the 18 team league standings.

Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club player Konadu, won the league title in 2013.
