Hearts of Oak granted permission to use Accra Stadium again

Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club will compete at the Accra Sports Stadium after a lengthy time away from the national edifice.

The team marks its return to the Stadium with a scheduled Ghana Premier League game against Real Tamale United on Sunday, February 25.

The game is part of a run of fixtures set to be played this past weekend to mark the start of the second round of the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season.

Hearts of Oak have been absent from the Accra Stadium due to the 2023 AFCON induced break and the use of the Stadium for religious and entertainment activities during the Christmas holidays by the managers of the facility- the National Sports Authority (NSA).

The NSA’s decision and subsequent stance on the decision has courted heavy criticism from stakeholders including football fans.

Hearts of Oak have appointed Ivorian Aboubakar Ouattara as head coach after sacking Martin Koopman and seeing out the first round with Abdul Bashiru Rahim as interim coach.
