Sports Ministry to settle Black Queens outstanding bonuses today – Ebenezer Allotey

Chairman of the Women’s Super-Cup Committee, Ebenezer Allotey, has told Citi News that the Ministry of Youth and Sports has finalized an agreement with Ghana’s Black Queens to settle their outstanding bonuses today, February 22, 2024, at 1 pm.

This resolution comes after reports of the Queens considering a boycott of their match against Zambia in the 2024 Paris Olympic Qualifiers first leg tie at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The team, owed around $180,000 collectively for their participation in six games, is expected to receive the overdue bonuses, providing a much-needed morale boost ahead of their crucial first-leg encounter against Zambia’s Copper Queens later on Friday.

As at yesterday, the Ministry attended their training sessions at the Accra Sports Stadium and they met with the girls

A promise was made, and the promise is that, today by 1pm the payment will be done for the unpaid bonuses, it is unfortunate it has already happened, and we pray that it will be done as said by the Ministry of Youth & Sports.
