Ghana Football Association (GFA) General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo has apologized to sports journalist Saddick Adams over the GFA’s action towards the 2018 Ghana Journalists Awards winner in the sports journalism category.

The GFA General Secretary said this in his reaction to the GFA’s official X (formerly Twitter) page blocking Adams from accessing the Association’s page on the social media platform.

“This was an error and was corrected immediately it came to our attention. Apologies for the mishap” Addo posted on X.

Adams posted the “blocked” notification on his X platform as he prepares to front a demonstration over the poor state of football in Ghana on February 14. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

The demonstration comes in the wake of Ghana’s terrible performance at the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire where the Black Stars crashed out of the tournament in the first round without scoring a win.

The Save Ghana Football Demonstration has veteran sports journalists including Veronica Commey and Patrick Osei Agyemang heavily involved.

Like Commey, Adams has been very vocal against the poor handling of Ghana’s most popular sport over the years with the Black Stars second AFCON first round exit bringing the situation to a head.

Dear @SaddickAdams, my brother.
This was an error and was corrected immediately it came to our attention.
Apologies for this mishap, my brother.
Talk to you immediately after the Meet The Press https://t.co/ughbuKcrvZ
