Ghana winger Ernest Nuamah has bagged his debut Man of the Match Award since joining Olympique Lyon.

The 20 year old got the award after starring in Lyon’s 1-0 win over Olympique Marseille in the French Ligue 1 immediate past round of games.

Nuamah played out the entire duration of the game in the crucial win that lifted the struggling Lyon out of the relegation zone.

The former FC Nordsjaelland player completed seven of 12 dribbling attempts, won nine out of 16 ground duels, accurately passed the ball 21 out of 27 times but missed a big chance in the contest.

Nuamah has a goal and an assist in 16 league appearances and is in line to play in Lyon’s French Cup round of 16 stage tie against Lille.

Nuamah’s performance comes on the back of a frustrating campaign at the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire where he played a total of 29 minutes through two games.
