Football fraternity familiar with issues heightened by #SaveGhanaDemontrators – Paul Anyaba

Business Development Manager for FC Samartex 1996, Paul Anyaba believes that for football to thrive in Ghana the appropriate structures will have to be put in place.

His comments have been necessitated by the #SaveGhanafootball demonstration which saw Ghanaian football lovers hit the streets on February 14th following Ghana’s poor showing and exit from the just ended Afcon.

“SAVEGHANAFOOTBALL” DEMONSTRATION

The protesters presented their 15 point petition to parliament demanding a change in how football is run in the country.

“I think that the group only highlighted or rehashed some of the problems that industry players have been talking about. If you want to develop our football such that it becomes an industry that will generate wealth for the people in it, what we have to do is to have a sound infrastructure.”

“And all over the world, when a sector needs an investment that is capital intensive it is the state that comes in. That is how come it is not GPRTU or Protoa who builds roads in Ghana because they are into transport operation.”

The “SaveGhanaFootball” demonstration which was set to hit the grounds in Kumasi on Friday, February 23, has been put on hold after a positive round of talks between the group and parliament of Ghana.
