AFC Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has described his team’s point accumulation from bagging a 2-2 draw with Newcastle United Football Club as a “great point”.
He said this after The Cherries secured the draw result that had Bournemouth miss out on all three points after conceding a late Newcastle equalizer in the 92nd minute via Matt Ritchie.
Semenyo scored in the 69th minute to put Bournemouth up 2-1 after teammate Dominic Solanke scored his 16th league goal of the season.
The Ghanaian player’s goal is his first since returning to Bournemouth after competing at the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire for the Black Stars.
Speaking after the game, Semenyo was upbeat about the game’s result despite conceding a very late goal and missing out on accumulating maximum points.
“It’s Antoine here, great point. The Boys done well, unfortunate with the result but we take the point” he said in his address to the fans after the game.
The 24 year old has four goals and two assists in 20 English Premier League appearances this season.
