Ghana Athletics President Bawa Fuseini says having school athletics on a grand platform like Citi TV is a development that “gladdens” his heart.
He said this in his interview on Citi TV’s Breakfast Daily as the association continues to prepare for the competition that runs from February 24 to February 28 at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon.
The competition serves as a means to boost the popularity of athletics in main stream media and an avenue to select athletes into Ghana’s pool.
Over 50 senior high schools will be represented at the competition and this year’s edition is the inaugural edition.
“For me, what gladdens my heart is that we are getting this kind of platform (Citi TV) to showcase athletics, to showcase Ghana student athletes. Without them, we cannot form the national team. 90% of our recruitment we are getting it from the Ghana Education Service.”
The Ghana Athletics President added that the NISAC has been added to the World Athletics calendar. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
