Ghana and Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew is in line to win a top award and round up his brilliant run in February.
Jordan Ayew’s fine strike against Everton has been nominated for the Goal of the Month Award for February in the English Premier League.
Ayew scored the brilliant goal in Palace’s 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park on the night of Oliver Glasner’s appointment as Crystal Palace manager.
The veteran forward received from French striker Jean-Philippe Mateta before unleashing the shot into right side of the post.
The goal was Ayew’s first since returning from competing at the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire for Ghana’s Black Stars and he followed it up with a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over Burnley.
Ayew is one of two Crystal Palace players to be nominated for the top award; Jefferson Lerma’s fine strike against Chelsea earned a spot on the list.
Ghanaian-English midfielder Kobbie Mainoo’s winning goal for Manchester United against Wolves was nominated.
