Southampton manager Russell Martin says Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana needs to stay fit in order to fulfill his tremendous talent.
He said this after Southampton’s 3-0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield in the fifth round of the FA Cup; Southampton missed out on a quarterfinal clash with Manchester United.
After reflecting on Kamaldeen’s misses in front of goal in the first half against Liverpool, Martin touched on Sulemana’s troublesome injury history that has blighted the former Stade Rennes player’s career. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
“It’s now about staying fit in order for him to get to the level he is capable of. He is a young guy who is learning all the time and will be an important player for us. I think he is a little frustrated that he has had injuries, then got into a flow and then had to come out with injuries again” Martin said to Daily Echo.
Kamaldeen is yet to score for Southampton this season as he has battled injuries; he missed the 2023 AFCON for Ghana due to the injury issues.
