Leicester City have sealed their place in the quarterfinals of the 2023-2024 season Emirates FA Cup after beating AFC Bournemouth 1-0 at the Vitality Stadium.
The Foxes secured passage to the next round of the competition thanks to a superb strike from Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku in the 105th minute in extra time.
Issahaku’s brilliant curler was enough to seal the win and earn the 19 year old the Man of the Match Award for his exploits in 56 minutes after coming off the bench. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
In a video circulating on social media, members of Leicester’s contingent including manager Enzo Maresca and players like Ricardo Pereira were captured nodding their heads and dancing to Ghanaian-English artiste Fuse ODG’s hit song “Antenna”.
The draw for the quarterfinals will be announced once the fifth round of games are completed on Wednesday, February 28 with the likes of Manchester United in the mix for place in the last eight.
Issahaku’s goal was his first in his debut game in the competition as he plays out his loan deal from Sporting Lisbon.
