Ghana Athletics President Bawa Fuseini has stated that the only place to have the National Invitational Students Athletics Championship (NISAC) was Citi TV.
He said this during his appearance on Citi TV’s Breakfast Daily in the lead up to the start of the maiden edition of the competition.
This year’s NISAC runs from February 24 to February 28 at the University of Ghana Stadium with over 50 senior high schools expected to be represented at the competition.
The athletics championship is a partnership between Ghana Athletics and Citi TV and aims to increase the popularity of athletics in Ghana while aiding to produce athletes for the country.
In his the interview, President highlighted Ghana Athletics successful partnership with Citi TV to organize a marathon a few years back as the main reason for striking another partnership with the station.
“A few years ago, we did a collaboration with Citi TV to do a marathon so when the idea (of NISAC) came on board, the only place our mind went was to Citi TV.”

“We took it (the concept) to the World Athletics and they also embraced it.”

Citi TV and Ghana Athletics have signed a four year memorandum of understanding on the NISAC.
