Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has eulogized the late Raphael Dwamena’s impact when the latter was on the field.
He said this in an interview with Citi Sports during Dwamena’s funeral following the former Real Zaragoza forward’s passing to a cardiac arrest.
Dwamena collapsed while playing for Egnatia in the Albania League on November 11, 2023 sending shockwaves in Ghana.
The 28 year old starred for Ghana’s Black Stars in his nine appearances as he scored twice on his debut against Ethiopia and his impact wasn’t lost on Agyemang-Badu who said,
“He was very respectful, very calm guy, very good guy and when he’s on the field you can see his impact on the game. I remember in 2017, when he came into the team in a qualifier against Ethiopia in a crucial game like that and he was able to get a brace.”

Dwamena’s heart condition prevented him from maximizing his talent and prevented him from scoring a big move to Brighton and Hove Albion.
