Leicester City Football Club manager Enzo Maresca has praised Ghanaian winger Fatawu Issahaku for his performance in The Foxes latest outing in the Sky Bet English Championship.
A Jamie Vardy goal gave Leicester a 1-0 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light to end a three game winless streak by Leicester.
Issahaku played 86 minutes in the contest and was replaced by James Justin while completing 15 of 18 pass attempts, completing both dribble attempts and won six of nine ground duels during his time on the pitch.
Speaking after the game, “[In the] first half he was very good on the ball, offensively” Maresca said about Issahaku while noting his performance defensively.
This development should boost Issahaku’s chances of sealing a permanent deal with Leicester City as he continues to play out his loan deal from Sporting Lisbon.
League leading Leicester have 10 games left to play to seal promotion to the English Premier League after getting relegated from the English top flight at the end of the 2021-2022 season.
