Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club assistant coach, David Ocloo, has pinned his team’s shock loss to Accra Lions on the Porcupine Warriors inability to run as much as Accra Lions.

He said this in an interview after Kotoko suffered a 2-3 loss at home to Lions to register its second loss in as many games after losing 1-0 to Karela United in the immediate past round.

On the other hand, the win is Accra Lions second in a row after the Ibrahim Tanko led team smashed Berekum Chelsea 5-0 at the WAFA Park in Sogakope; Lions’ adopted home ground as the Accra Sports Stadium hosts games in the 13th African Games.

Blessing Asuman scored twice for Lions with forward Dominic Amponsah adding to the score for the Accra lads at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Speaking on the disappointing result that had Kalo Ouattara and Bernard Somuah scoring for Kotoko, Ocloo said,

“It’s very very disappointing but congratulationsto Accra Lions, they played well and they deserved to win. Accra Lions run more than us football now is about running and they did it better than us today.”

Kotoko drop to fourth place in the standings while Lions climb to 10th place.
