Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has stated that Otto Addo was the best performer among candidates for the Black Stars head coaching job.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports after Addo was named as Black Stars head coach following an extensive search for Chris Hughton’s replacement.

Hughton was sacked after Ghana’s poor run at the 2023 AFCON where the Black Stars crashed out at the preliminary stage without registering a win in three games.

The vacant position has been filled by the former Black Stars player who featured in Ghana’s debut FIFA World Cup campaign in 2006 and the GFA Communications Director stated he was the best candidate interviewed.

“The Executive Council had a meeting on Thursday…the council was presented with a report of the five-man committee that was tasked to search for a new coach of the Black Stars.”
