Black Stars: Otto Addo names John Paintsil, Fatau Dauda to coaching staff

Newly appointed Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has named former Black Stars players John Paintsil and Fatau Dauda to his technical staff.

The news was confirmed today in the wake of Addo’s appointment as Black Stars head coach for the second time with his first run with Ghana’s National Football Team coming on an interim basis.

Like Otto Addo, Paintsil and Dauda played for the Black Stars at the FIFA World Cup with Paintsil featuring in two (2006 and 2010) and all three ventured into coaching immediately after ending their playing careers.

Paintsil served as an assistant coach for South African Premier League side Kaizer Chiefs while Dauda has worked as a goalkeeper trainer with Sudan’s National Men’s Football Team.

Rounding up Addo’s technical team is Joseph Laumann who has had coaching stints with Standard Liege in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League, Barnsley in the English Championship and German side VFL Bochum.
