I won’t struggle to land another coaching job if I leave Kotoko- Prosper Ogum

Kumasi Asante Kotoko Head Coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum

Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has taken a swipe at critics by touting his tactical attractiveness to Kotoko’s contemporaries in Ghana and beyond.

He said this in an interview on Angel FM in Kumasi as pressure mounts on the former WAFA coach following Kotoko’s abysmal start to the second half of the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season.

Kotoko have lost four out of five league games played thus far including a 3-2 loss at home to Accra Lions and a 1-0 loss to Kpando Heart of Lions.

Addressing the downturn in results, Dr. Ogum indicated he is still a top coach a lot of clubs in Ghana and abroad are clamouring for.

“If I leave Kotoko next season, I can get a job locally and internationally. In fact before I came to Kotoko, I was going abroad, I had a job I was going but the great king (Otumfuo Osei Tutu II) told me not to go and I should come and do the job.”

“Locally, if I don’t get a job, I will get a coaching job internationally and there is no way I will never get a job locally. Let’s even put football aside, if I decide not to coach again, don’t I have the lecture theatre to go and work there?”

Kotoko rank eighth in the league standings tied on 32 points with arch rival Accra Hearts of Oak.
