Head coach of Ghana’s National Men’s Football, the Black Stars, Otto Addo, says his team deserved a draw against Nigeria and not a loss.

Ghana lost 1-2 to Nigeria in an international friendly game played in Morocco with the game being the first of two for newly appointed head coach Otto Addo.

Nigeria scored twice through Cyriel Dessers penalty in the 38th minute and Ademola Lookman in the 84th minute with Ghana getting what turned out to be a consolation goal from Jordan Ayew in the 95th minute via a penalty.

English born defender Jerome Opoku who recently committed to play international football for Ghana, was sent off in the 56th minute.

Despite much of the second half down by a man, the Black Stars were the better side and created good scoring chances leading Otto Addo to state,

“I don’t like to look too much at the positives, in the end, it’s the result we lost. We were a bit unlucky…what killed us was their second goal because we were close actually to equalize. In all, a draw would have been deserved but like I said, we lost and we have to improve.”
