Karela's Gayisu Ibrahim celebrates goal against Kotoko

Karela United head coach Abukari Damba Abdul-Rahman believes his team worked very hard to record a huge win over Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club.

He said this after Karela picked up only its fifth win of the 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season via 1-0 win over The Porcupine Warriors.

Karela’s Gayisu Ibrahim scored what turned out to be the game winner and condemned Kotoko to a fifth loss away from home in the campaign.

Speaking after the loss, Karela’s head coach praised Kotoko for “distinguishing themselves creditably” in the contest and added that,

“I did indicate to you that the last kicks of a dying horse are very powerful. I think my players of course did demonstrate that, we worked hard towards this but I must also say Kotoko…they are very very good side. They distinguished themselves very creditably just that we did the needful by scoring the goal.”

Karela recorded the important win over Kotoko at the Naa Sheriga Sports Centre in Nalerigu.
