4-NATION ATHLETICS CHAMPS: Ghana’s Aisha Ibrahim & Latifa Haruna clinch podium places

At the ongoing 4-Nation Junior Athletics championships in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana’s Aisha Ibrahim clinched the top spot while Latifa Haruna secured third place in the women’s U18 400m finals, finishing with impressive times of 56.43 seconds and 1:00.01 respectively.


Representing Ghana at this prestigious event are 15 athletes accompanied by three officials.

These athletes, aged under 20, hail from various Senior High Schools and athletic clubs across the country.

They are competing against teams from Burkina Faso, Benin, and the host nation, Cote D’Ivoire.


The competition, taking place at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny, will feature a range of events including the 100m and 200m races for both boys and girls, the 800m race for boys, the 110m hurdles for men, the 400m hurdles for boys, and the high jump for boys, as well as relay races for both boys and girls.

Results of Day 1

☑️Aisha Ibrahim and Latifa Haruna came 1st and 3rd in the women U18 400m finals in a time of 56.43sec and 1:00.01 respectively

☑️Naseera Quansah and Amanda Yeboah came 1st and 4th in the women U20 100m finals in a time of 12.08sec and 12.76sec (+0.3) respectively

☑️Joseph Andoh Kwofie and Sarfo Isaac came 1st and 3rd in the men U20 100m finals in a time of 10.69sec and 10.83sec (+1.4) respectively

☑️Isaac Beniako came 2nd in the men U18 400m finals in a time of 50.22sec
