Ghanaian sprinter Saminu Abdul-Rasheed has emerged as the Most Valuable Performer at the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Outdoor Championship.
Abdul-Rasheed dominated the event by winning gold in the 100 Metre, 200 Metre and 4 x 100 Metre Men’s Relay Race.
In the 100 Metre race, the Ghanaian won by running a personal best time of 10.03 seconds- in legal wind time- (0.8) and run a time of 20.34 seconds in the 200 Metre race.
It was a clean sweep by University of South Florida who had sprinters Shevioe Reid and Jaleel Croal finish second and third behind Abdul-Rasheed with a time of 20.34 seconds and 20.47 seconds respectively.
Abdul-Rasheed’s time is the fifth fastest time recorded in the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) and in a post-race interview, he stated his readiness to continuing excelling on the outdoor circuit.
He wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page, “We ain’t done yet” after his brilliant runs en route to winning three gold medals.
