Ghana’s Black Starlets faced a setback in their opening match of the 4-NATIONS tournament in Volgograd, suffering a 3-1 loss to Russia.

The defeat came early, with Shilov Vadim scoring for the Russians in the 4th minute, followed by Daniil Kiselev’s strike in the 31st minute, which included conceding from a penalty kick and the final goal in the 34th minute by Zakhar Chushkin.
The Starlets got their only goal through Ernest Ofori in the 65th minute.

Coach Laryea Kingston’s team, keen on evaluating their strengths, is gearing up for the upcoming WAFU Zone B U17 tournament in Accra next month.
This defeat marks their first at the tournament.
Next, they will meet Kazakhstan and Serbia before returning to Accra to intensify preparations for the WAFU ZONE B U17 CUP OF NATIONS.
