Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey’s return to the starting unit of Arsenal ended in an emphatic win for The Gunners in the English Premier League.
Arsenal thumped Chelsea 5-0 at the Emirates Stadium to extend its lead atop the league standings to three points over second placed Liverpool albeit having played a game more than The Reds.
Mikel Arteta’s side also hold a four point lead over defending league champions Manchester City but the City have played two games fewer.
Partey lined up in a midfield three against Chelsea with Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice flanking on the left and right sides respectively.
The 30 year old played 72 minutes in the game and was replaced by Jorginho with Arsenal up 5-0 after getting a second goal from former Chelsea player Kai Havertz.
He completed 38 passes including nine passes into the final third, recovered the ball four times, made three interceptions and had 56 touches in the game.

Partey has endured another frustrating injury filled campaign and prior to tonight’s game, the former Atletico Madrid player had started four games this season with his last starting appearance coming in Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Luton Town April 3.
