Ghana winger Abdul Fatawu Isshaku’s performance against Southampton has been described as fantastic by Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca.
He said this in his post game interview after seeing his side beat Southampton 5-0 in the Sky Bet English Championship on Tuesday, April 23.
The win moves Leicester City closer to secure automatic promotion to the English Premier League in its first attempt after getting relegated at the end of the 2022-2023 season.
His performance improved his production for Leicester City while on loan from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon to six goals and 12 assists in 39 league games.
Issahaku scored a hat-trick in the 5-0 win with this being his first in his professional football career; he assisted Jamie Vardy’s goal for Leicester’s fourth. Speaking about Issahaku, Maresca said,
“His performance was fantastic but I think all the team was very good. We would like to score goals always, but the opponent is always there. We took our chances tonight.”

Leicester City need a win in of their two remaining games to seal qualification to the Premier League; The Foxes play against Preston North End on Monday, April 29.
