Nations Football Club Brands Manager, Kennedy Boakye Ansah, has all but conceded that his team is out of contention to win the Ghana Premier League title.

Nations FC rank fourth in the 2023-2024 GPL season after 31 games with 48 points and trail league leaders FC Samartex by seven points.

Despite having a mathematical chance to win the league, Nations FC’s Brands Manager indicated in an exclusive interview that the club is out of the running to win the league mainly due to inexperience.

“We almost had an opportunity to win the league but unfortunately based on a few setbacks, we couldn’t achieve that. We are excited, we are proud of the boys.”

“Basically, most of the boys came from Division One; some of the results, especially the home draws that we’ve had were things that if they had had that experience, probably we would have won those games.”

Nations FC have slipped from second place to fourth place in the 18 team league standing after going through a rough patch in recent league outings. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

The Abrankese side have a win, two draws and three losses in six games and Boakye Ansah addressed the situation. Nations FC play Accra Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, May 31 at 18:00 GMT.
