Los Angeles Galaxy head coach, Greg Vanney, says his team won’t rush Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil’s return from injury with the Black Stars player set to miss the rest of the month due to injury.
In a pregame presser ahead of Galaxy’s league tie against Houston Dynamo on Sunday, May 26 in Houston, Vanney spoke on the subject and Paintsil’s possible return. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
Vanney also spoke on the need to give Paintsil enough time to rest and recover from the injury considering Paintsil’s work load that dates back to his 2023-2024 season starting in August during his run with Belgian side KRC Genk.
“Not an ideal with the way we want to go about it from an injury standpoint but he does need the rest and recovery in order to be able to be as fresh as possible down the second half of the season so we are not going to rush him. We will see how he progresses this week.”

Paintsil is likely to miss Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali on June 6 and Central African Republic on June 10.
