The Deputy Director General of the National Sports Authority, Bawa Majeed, has indicated that working with the newly appointed Acting Director of the Authority has been very smooth.
Dodzie Numekevor, the Acting Director General replaced Prof. Peter Twumasi who assumed the role of Director General on December 10, 2019.
In an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, Bawa highlighted that the new Director General has promised to meet all NSA staff across the country in a move to lead the authority to the promise land.
“Working with him has been very smooth and excellent. He’s a very good team player and a leader, so we have been working together.”
“Naturally because he’s new and we have been here, some of the things he would want to listen to us before taking a decision but the decision is his. So he’s been very fantastic with everybody. He met the staff here and Kumasi.”

“He’s also planning to meet the staff across the country and he’s meeting the stake holders. He has met with the Ghana Football Association, he has also met with the heads of the 54 disciplines and has met the ministries leadership. So he’s doing well and getting it up and we believe he will get us to the promise land.”

The appointment of Dodzie Numekevor was formalized by Secretary to President Nana Bediatuo Asante on February 26, 2024.
