Accra Great Olympics were on the verge of beating the drop from the Ghana Premier League but wins for Accra Hearts of Oak and Karela United relegated The Dade Boys to the Access Division One Zone 3 for the 2024-2025 season.

Olympics scored a win via forfeiture with three goals and three points due to already relegated Real Tamale United’s failure to honour the final league game.

However, Olympics precarious position meant that it needed other relegation threatened teams like Accra Hearts of Oak and Karela United to lose their games to ensure their stay in Ghana’s top flight.

After beating league champions FC Samartex 1996, Karela United beat last season’s league champions Medeama SC 1-0 in Tarkwa with Heart of Lions drawing 2-2 at the Golden City Park in Berekum.

Hearts on the other hand, beat Bechem United in Bechem 3-2.

Defender Ebenezer Abban stepped up to sweep home the late penalty kick awarded to Heart of Lions in the 92nd minute to register his brace after scoring in the 56th minute.
