Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has expressed his disappointment over his team’s inability to get more wins in the just ended 2023-2024 Ghana Premier League season.

He said this in his final post game interview of the season after Kotoko beat already relegated Bofoakwa Tano 3-1 in Kumasi in a game that was delayed due to rain.

Kotoko finished sixth in the end of season standings with 49 points from 14 wins, seven draws and 13 losses. The Porcupine Warriors missed out on a top four finish by a point after picking up 30 out of 51 points at home.

Speaking at the end of season presser, Dr. Ogum bemoaned his team’s not having more home wins considering league champions FC Samartex won 16 of 17 home games en route to lifting the trophy.

“All over the world, teams that are able to win championships do very well at home, they are able to accumulate a lot of points. If you look at the number of points we lost at home, it wasn’t the best.”

“We lost so many games at home, we drew some games too at home which has led us to where we are now.”
