President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has praised Vice President of Ghana and the New Patriotic Party Flag bearer for the 2024 General Elections, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for his support in the Black Stars win over Mali.
He did so when Dr. Bawumia visited the Black Stars during a team dinner in the lead up to the team’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi at 7 PM tonight.
Ghana beat Mali 2-1 in Bamako in the lead up to tonight’s game and speaking at the event, GFA President Kurt Okraku thanked Dr. Bawumia for his role in getting the Black Stars logistical help on the team’s Mali trip.
“Your Excellency, your team did a good job in Mali fighting against all odds winning 2-1. Through your support, we didn’t go through trotro we flew directly to Kumasi and we are very ready for tonight’s game.”

Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, NPP National Organizer Henry Nana Boakye and NPP National Chairman Stephen Ntim were present at the event.

Ghana rank third in Group I standings behind leaders Madagascar and Comoros ahead of tonight’s game.
