Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has praised forward Jordan Ayew after the latter’s brilliant display in Ghana’s 4-3 win over Central African Republic in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Ayew scored a hat trick in the win via a penalty kick in the first half, a fine header to tie the game before sweeping home his third to give Ghana a 4-3 lead in the second half.
Speaking in his post game interview after the win, Addo praised Jordan Ayew for his contributions beyond scoring goals.
“He is a striker who can work defensively very well. Tactically very very intelligent and that’s why sometimes you can use him also as a winger and he closes everything down, he works hard and people don’t see it so often.”

“I’m happy for him, he plays the number nine because he can hold the ball, he has a good finish and he has a nose for goals. I see it in training. He is very hardworking.”
Jordan Ayew’s hat trick is the first for a Black Stars player since Thomas Partey scored three times against Republic of Congo in 2017.
