Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is adamant that his team were deserved winners in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Central African Republic (CAR).

He said this in a post game interview after Ghana beat CAR 4-3 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi to get its third win in four qualification games.

Ghana mounted a spirited comeback from a 2-1 half time deficit to score the win with Jordan Ayew scoring a hat trick and Fatawu Issahaku adding a goal. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

Despite the spells of poor play from the Black Stars, Otto Addo believes his team adjusted well in the second half and deserved to win the game.

“We had problems in the first half controlling the ball and finding solutions upfront. I take the blame. We adjusted in the second half and deserved to win.”
