DOL Zone 2: Basake Holy Stars awarded points after successful protest against Sefwi All-Stars

Basake Holy Stars have been declared the winners of matchday 26 in the Access Bank Division One League zone 2 fixture against Sefwi All-Stars.

This decision follows the committee’s findings that fans of the home team, Sefwi All-Stars, invaded the pitch, causing the game to end prematurely.

In their defence, Sefwi All-Stars claimed that the game did not end abruptly, as Basake Holy Stars (the complainant) suggested.

Instead, they maintained that the match officials managed the game smoothly until the end of the first half, and then walked to their dressing room without any issues.

Here are excerpts of the case.

Sefwi All-Stars have been declared the losers of the match by articles 33(2) and 34(12) of the Ghana Football Association Division One League regulations.

As a result, Basake Holy Stars have been awarded three points and three goals.

With these three points, Basake Holy Stars now lead the Access Bank Division One League Zone 2 table with a total of 53 points.

They are just a game away from securing promotion to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League.
